The work of bicycle advocacy does not sleep! There are always lots of tasks to help out with. Squeaky Wheels welcomes your willingness to donate your time and energy. There are annual events, such as those listed below, and other tasks for you to take on. Your commitment can be 2-3 hours or something larger - there's plenty of room for your talents.

You can help with one of the events listed in the calendar like Bike to Work and School Day or our Bike for Pie ride. Organize a ride! Meet riders with similar goals. Let us know and we'll help get the word out. Send your articles and ideas to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Bring your idea, project or concern to the next Squeaky Wheels meeting:

6:30 p.m.   monthly on the 3rd Thursday
Marge Williams Center
221 West Winslow Way

(across from Winslow Green).

We are always advocating for safer cycling, but you can too! The more voices heard by our city, schools and state, the better. We have found that INDIVIDUALS MAKE A HUGE IMPACT when they call, write or show up at meetings.

Annual events

Chilly Hilly Chili

Each year Squeaky Wheels co-hosts the Chilly Hilly chili feed at Bainbridge Commons. It's one of our largest fundraisers and requires many hands to help make it run successfully. In addition to setting up the commons on the day of Chilly Hilly (always the last Sunday in February), volunteers also make chili & cornbread chili (the day before) and serve and clean up on the day of the event. If we can commit to at least 3 hours, please contact volunteer coordinator Kent Scott - secretary at squeakywheels.org and express your interest in helping on either the Saturday before the event or on the day of.

Bike for Pie

Our signature event, Bike for Pie is a fun day that is put together by more than a dozen volunteers. There's room for you to help out, too. We need pie-bakers, sign-makers, safety marshals, a clean-up crew, ride support crew and other folks to make the event go smoothly, both on the day and in advance of the event, which is on August 14, 2011. If you are interested in helping out, contact Gordon Black - vicepresident at squeakywheels.org

Website

If you have technical skills and a willingness to commit to at least six months of web site maintenance (2-3 hours per month), contact Kent Scott - secretary at squeakywheels.org

Graphics

Calling all bicycling graphics artists. We would welcome the donation of your skilled labor for brochures, banners and other printed and web-site items. You could bring your talents to a single project or commit to longer-term projects, as you wish. Contact Kent Scott - secretary at squeakywheels.org
