Here are links to the Seattle City Bicycle Map and the King County Bicycle Map. These sites have many other cool printable maps for Puget Sound rides.

  Riding on Miller

Bainbridge Island is about 12 miles long by 6 miles wide with some pretty respectable hills, like many
of the San Juan islands. You can see and print out our great Bicycling and Walking Guide to Bainbridge Island Map here. You will have to print out three pages (so it wouldn't be too big or too slow to download ) and tape them together, but cyclists are a resourceful group. I'm sure you have had to do worse!

We will also mail out the brochure and map, in one piece, if you contact us. Just remember there are plenty of bakeries, scenic picnic spots and restaurants to revive you. Below are some rides to try out the terrain, and here is a summary of places to eat!

THE CHILLY HILLY is the Pacific Northwest's 30+ year-old season-opening bicycle ride on Bainbridge Island presented every February by Cascade Bicycle Club of Seattle. This ride was voted one of the "ten best in the United States" by Bicycling Magazine. Here's the information for you to use when you practice for the big ride. It's about 33 miles, give or take. You'll need to stop at lots of bakeries to get through this one. Gee...

This worse-than-Chilly Hilly Ride The Hilly Hilly was created by some of our tough but insane members. Here's the ride description with mileage and (ouch) elevation gain. Thanks Tony Medina and BSue Johnson, AKA Xena, the warrior princess!! Also, check with B.I.Cycle in downtown Winslow for their But Why? Ride including EVERY hill on Bainbridge. B.I.Cycle and Classic Cycle have weekend rides that leave from their shops.

For many more local rides, check with Cascade in Seattle and West Sound Cycling Club on the Olympic peninsula. The Seattle Bicycle Touring Club is an informal group of recreational cyclists that, each week, weather permitting, provides at least one ride for ach level of cyclist: beginning, social and intermediate. They also have monthly 1-3 day outings to surrounding areas.

squeaky wheels is always looking for someone to organize and lead rides! If you are interested, come to a meeting or contact one of the board members.
